Lola's origination is a family story born out of West Des Moines, IA. Back in August of 2015, owner Taufeek Shah was entrusted by his mother with her secret hot sauce recipe that she had been making for her close friends and family for years. After sharing it with a group of work friends at his then day job, he knew his life would never be the same. This simple yet truly unique sauce is not one to be missed.
TRY IT ON: Pizza, subs, wings, tacos, pasta, and salsas. Even add to recipes for wings, meatballs, and buffalo dip!
HEAT LEVEL: Hot
This sauce was great on scrambled eggs and sauces that need a little background heat. Well balanced and tasty.
This sauce has a great flavor and excellent consistency. It goes great with rice and soup. The heat is just right
This sauce was perfect on Mexican dishes that needed an extra kick. Taste good on everything without hijacking the meal itself. A bit too vinegary for me to give it five stars though.
Great sauce, good consistency, just a bit of a sloppy pour. That is the reason for not a higher rating!
This should be the internationally standard of hot sauce, not Tabasco. Lola's is so blissfully simple in flavor and a very respectable heat. It's not so hot as to be inaccessible to the uninitiated, but it's more than warm enough for even die-hard pepper heads, such as me and my father, to gladly put on breakfast almost every day. The pepper and the garlic marry in a spicy vinegary thick sauce that is so very clean. It never messes with the flavor of what it is applied to, but enhances and brightens the meal.
