The rare and elusive Datil Pepper only grows in the nation's oldest city of St. Augustine, Florida. It has a slight fruitiness with a latent heat that kicks! Old St. Augustine, a small family business, created Snake Bite hot sauce to show off the true flavor of this illustrious ingredient. Pronounce "Datil" like "Paddle."
TRY IT ON: Chicken wings, seafood, Bloody Mary's, and more. Dice up fresh watermelon with onion and cilantro, add Snake Bite, and eat with tortilla chips.
HEAT LEVEL: Hot
This was my favorite go-to sauce when I wanted to just add some simple heat to a dish. Reminiscent of a tabasco that you can drizzle onto anything to punch it up. Will definitely reorder.
This sauce isn't too spicy (by my tastes) but adds a nice flavor and complexity. The datil pepper is nice and reminds me of a tabasco style hot sauce, but with a better flavor. Goes well with eggs and vegetables.
Ok sauce. Much better than tobasco
I don't usually like the vinegary hot sauces but this one hits the nail on the head with the perfect blend of heat and vinegar. I used it every day until the bottle ran out.
If you like sauces that have the taste of vinegar, this one is for you. I bought a second bottle.
